Ross and Cromarty is a Highland county in Scotland, bounded on the north by Sutherlandshire, east by Durnoch and Moray firths, south by Inverness-shire, and west by the North Minch and the Hebrides. It includes within itself the island of Lewis and numerous small islands off the west coast and around Lewis. The area is 3089 square miles.

Most of the county is mountainous, with Ben Dearg, Squrr Mor, and many other peaks rising above 3000 feet. A series of peaks along the Inverness border in the southwest rise above 3500 feet. Level land occurs only in eastern Ross. Little of western and southern Ross falls lower than 100 feet. The west coast of the mainland is indented by numerous lochs. The east coast is indented by Durnoch Firth, separating Ross and Cromarty from Sutherland, and by Cromarty Firth and Inverness Firth. The interior possesses a number of fresh lakes. Orrin and Okyell are the chief rivers. Dingwall is the county seat. Cromarty and Tain are also important.
