The wreck of this Confederate blockade runner is situated in shallow water off Surfside Beach. The boilers on the ship are still visible. The wreck is accessible with scuba equipment.

The 160-foot copper-clad side-wheeler was built for speed, in order to elude federal blockade ships. It ran aground on the night of February 6, 1865.
