Established in 1845, Baylor University is an independent institution offering undergraduate and graduate programs in a wide range of disciplines. It occupies a 423-acre campus where 10,000 full-time undergraduates and almost 2000 graduate students take classes. Four out of five students come from Texas, but all 50 states and many foreign countries are represented. Fraternities and sororities are quite active. Interscholastic sports are pursued at a high level, with the football team playing in Baylor's 50,000 seat stadium.
