Located 2 miles west of I-35 exit 335B at 1701 North Fourth Street features 50 acres of natural habitats. The African savannah is home to giraffes, white rhinoceroses and elephants; the herpetarium's inhabitants include king cobras, chameleons and alligators. Among other zoo residents are gibbons, Texas longhorn cattle, Galapagos tottoises, antelopes and an endangered Sumatran tiger. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The zoo is open year-round, but is closed for the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day holidays.
