Edgewood Heritage Park was founded in 1976 as a bi-centennial ongoing project, this outdoor museum encompasses authentically restored and furnished structures representing rural life in East Texas circa 1900. More than a dozen historical structures, along with such displays as animal-powered farm equipment and a syrup mill, including 1800s cabins , blacksmith shop, coutry store, barber shop, schoolhouse and tool museum. Docents in pioneer garb demonstrate pioneer items. Educational programs are offered to schools with the emphasis on the third and fourth grades.
