The building built in 1920, has since received a historical marker designation. Swenson Memorial Museums officially opened on July 4, 1976 as a part of the Breckenridge and Stephens County Centennial and the United States Bicentennial Celebration. The museum features pioneer artifacts and traveling exhibits. The annex is devoted to boom days history and has an open-air tool display.
