Highest point between Houston and Dallas, a focal point for history for 200 years. In 1797 Philip Nolan's trading expedition found peaceful Tehuacana Indians farming here until the Cherokee destroyed them in 1852. Tehuacana Academy, est 1852, was the precursor to Trinity University, now located in San Antonio.
