Located at jct, FM 50 and 390, is site of the state's oldest continuously active Baptist church, established in the Republic of Texas in 1839. Exhibits in the adjacent museum relate to the church, the community, the founding of Baylor University and Baylor Female College, and many of the area's notable residents, including Gen. Sam Houston. The adjacent cemetery contains the graves of Mrs. Sam Houston and her mother, Nancy Lea.
