Mrs Nina Hale donated the two-story clinic in memory of her late husband, Dr Z. I. Hale, long time area optometrist, for the museum. Keeping with the 'Our Heritage' theme museum features exhibits of area history, photographs and documents, and an old horse-drawn hearse used in the city from 1906-1920. Outside there is a Missouri-Pacific Railroad caboose. Major exhibits during the year include dolls and quilts. Exhibits upstairs in the historic Rock Hotel include a Veterans Room and an exhibit on Rogers Hornsby, named to the Baseball Hall of Fame and the Texas Sports Hall of Fame.
