Foothill Village was constructed in 1957 by Gray and Boxy Builders. It was the first large mall ever constructed in the state of Utah. The north section of the mall is the original section that was built and occupied. The southern portion of the mall was added later on and completed the construction of the mall. Current tenants include an array of apparel outlets, restaurants, gift shops, doctors offices, toy stores, travel agencies, and more.

For that reason, many residents of the Valley wanted to reestablish their Welsh roots. In 2005, after a 90 year break, this annual cultural event, now called the Malad Valley Welsh Festival, once again became a reality.
