Amelia is located in Amelia County 39 miles SW of Richmond off Highway 360 in the Central Region of the state. The community of Amelia is the county seat for Amelia County. Located just off Hwy 360 on Hwy 614. Sayler's Creek Battlefield Historic State Park and the Appomattox River are nearby for recreational activities.
