Founded in 1973, Mountain Cove is Virginia's oldest continuously operating winery. The fully modern winery is housed in a fieldstone building. A rustic salesroom offers a wide variety of wines and gift items. They have learned from almost a quarter century of experience in Virginia and have chosen varieties to make truly premium wines. The vineyard now includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Norton, Chambourcin, Villard Blanc, and Traminette. Mountain Cove purchases locally grown Chardonnay from the eastern slopes of the Blue Ridge.
