Built in 1807, resembles a fortress and once was used to make lead shot. Foster Falls, 2 miles from the tower, serves as headquarters for New River Trail State Park, a 57-mile greenway. The park's trail is popular for hiking, bicycling, canoeing, picnicking and horseback riding.
