Waynesboro is located in Augusta County in the Shenahdoah Valley in the Central Region of the state. Waynesboro was the site of the last major Civil War battle in central Virginia. The area offers visitors a variety of historical and natural attractions as well as many recreational opportunities found along Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Waynesboro is located just west of Charlottesville on I64; Sherando Lake is nearby.
