Cavendish (pop. 1,470) is located in Windsor County, central Vermont, approximately 20 miles west of Interstate 91 on Route 131.
Chartered in 1761, Cavendish is close to Green Mountain National Forest. Its principal attractions are a variety of outdoor recreation options, including skiing, fishing, boating, camping, hunting, picnicking, and more. There are many museums and historic sites in the area.
