Huntington is located in Chittenden County 16 miles southeast of Burlington. Green Mountain Audubon Nature Center is a 230-acre sanctuary of fields, thickets, ponds, streams, a forest, a swamp and a river. Many types of wildlife are protected here. The visitor center has exhibits.

Huntington is located off Highway 17 near Camel's Hump State Park. Camel's Hump State Forest takes up much of the eastern portion of the town. Mount Mansfield, a.k.a. "The Hump," is easily the most recognizable peak in the state.
