Founded in 1946, Marlboro is a four-year, private coeducational liberal arts college located on a 360-acre campus in southern Vermont. Marlboros 300 students 60 percent women and 40 percent men are taught by 40 faculty members. The student-faculty ratio is 8:1. Marlboro faculty teach some 275 classes and 600 tutorials in 33 areas of study each year. Ninety-six percent of Marlboros classes have fewer than 20 students and 40 percent of Marlboro students study abroad before graduating.
About three quarters of all Marlboro students live on campus in housing that includes several small dorms, a converted inn and married student apartments.
Marlboro offers bachelor of arts and bachelor of science degrees in 32 areas and in international studies.
In addition, the Persons School of Marlboro College, located in Brattleboro, encompasses the Marlboro College Technology Center and its Graduate Center. The Persons School offers master's degrees in Internet-oriented fields.
