Located in the rugged Central Cascades of Washington, the wilderness encompasses more than 390,000 acres of wilderness, primarily in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest and Wenatchee National Forest.
Many lakes and hiking trails. The name comes from the nearly 700 small mountain lakes in the region. The wilderness gets nearly 150,000 visitors each year, many of whom are not taking care of this beloved area.
