Even before becoming a state park, this unique sand beach on the eastern shores of
Puget Sound between
Seattle and
Tacoma was a haven for local recreationalists, beach combers, and fishermen.
In the late 1940's, the property was sold to Washington state. Dash Point State Park was dedicated in 1962.
The beach area is very popular for walking and its views of Puget Sound.
The park features a variety of activities including camping, hiking and beachcombing.
The Washington State Parks system includes more than 125 developed parks and includes about a quarter million acres. To make a reservation at more then 60 Washington state parks, contact Washington State Parks from May 15 to Sept. 15.
