This huge, rugged wilderness, extending over more than a half million acres in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest and Wenatchee National Forest, contains the largest number of active glaciers in the continental United States.
A large variety of vegetation and wildlife is represented here, as well as more than 200 lakes. The highest peak is Glacier Peak at 10,541 feet, and the many ragged peaks in the wilderness provide some of the best rock climbing in the United States.
