The park contains one of the last stands of lowland old growth Douglas fir. The John R. Jackson House was the home of the first American to settle in this area of Washington. The park also features camping, picnicking, hiking, a natural wading pool, play area, juvenile fishing and horseback riding. In addition the park offers a great view of Mt. St. Helens with the crater visible. It is located 12 miles SE of Chehalis. This park is not to be confused with Lewis and Clark Trail State Park in Eastern Washington. The Washington State Parks system includes more than 125 developed parks and covers about a quarter million acres.
