Lyons Ferry Hatchery

Search Starbuck Washington

Lyon's Ferry Fish Hatchery was built in 1982 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The hatchery is named for a family that operated a ferry service here in the late 1800s.

Lyons Ferry is the only hatchery program for Snake River fall chinook salmon and is also a major production center for spring chinook and steelhead. The hatchery also raises over 300,000 rainbow trout each year for stocking low-land lakes in eastern Washington and streams in northern Idaho.
