Settled in the mid 1800's, Woodland soon developed into a bustling center on the Interstate 5 corridor. Situated a half-hour from Portland, Oregon, it is the gateway to the recreational side of Mount St Helens. Enjoy a short scenic drive from here to Cougar. Woodland is just inside Cowlitz County.

There is also a Woodland, California.

Woodland is part of the Portland-Vancouver, Oregon-WA metro area.
