In the Wind River Mountains of NW Wyoming in Fremont County. NW out of Riverton on St.Hwy 26-287, through Dubois and parallel the Wind River. Becomes a mountainous road but maintained and open year round. Approx. 5 mi. above the Tie Hack Memorial, Forest Road 515 takes off to the north or on your right. Following this well maintained dirt road for about 5 mi. will bring you to Brooks Lake.
Fishing is allowed year round but the area receives significant snow pack.
Species present: rainbow, brook, lake, splake, and Snake River cutthroat trouts.
Bring mosquito spray, rain gear and boots in the early summer. All anglers need to be alert for any bear activity as this is grizzly country!
Brooks Lake Campground has 13 units. Brooks Lake has a developed boat ramp.
