Open year round, Cook Lake Recreation Area provides camping with fees charged from May 26 to November 30. There are 34 units, 25 units that accommodate tents, travel trailers and RVs, and 9 units that are for tents only. Fires are permitted within fire rings, and pets must be on leashes at all times. No electric motors are allowed on Cook Lake.
There are many hiking trails of varied length located near the lake. There is also access to the Bearlodge Trail system, and trout fishing and viewing birds and wildlife are popular activities.
