This hatchery is supplied by two springs and Jakeys Fork. The hatchery incubates, then sends nearly 9 million eggs to other hatcheries nationwide. The hatchery also rears half a million fish annually for stocking. The types of fish are numerous, including Snake River cutthroat, rainbow, and Bear River Trout. It was originally constructed in the 1930s, but all operations were abandoned in 1937 when another facility was built. Currently, the concrete raceways and two dirt rearing ponds support rainbow, cutthroat, and brown trout. Incubators at Dubois turn out several million eggs per year.
Nearby the hatchery are many fishing opportunities, including Wind River or one of the alpine lakes: Torrey, Ring and Trail.
