Kortes Reservoir is located in a deep, narrow section of the Black Canyon of the North Platte River. Due to the frequent surges of water that come from the Seminoe Dam, Kortes Reservoir has no boat ramps. There are no fish stocked in Kortes Reservoir and there are no campsites adjacent to Kortes Reservoir due to the steepness of the canyon walls. Kortes Reservoir is located on the North Platte River 54 miles southwest of Casper and 34 miles northeast of Rawlins in Carbon County.
