The Wind River Canyon lies north of Boysen State Park and is located on a section of the Wind River Indian Reservation, home of the eastern Shoshone and northern Arapaho tribes. The canyon is particularly known for its whitewater rafting departing from Thermopolis. The geological formations, such as the towering cliffs, and the wildlife as well, will add to the excitement of floating down one of the oldest canyons in the United States.
Rapids vary from very small class 1 rapids to the more challenging Class III-IV rapids, such as Pink Canyon Falls and Washakie Falls.
