Crook County occupies the NE corner of WY. Within the county are the towns of Moorcroft, Pine Haven, Sundance, Hulett, and Aladdin. Rich in beautiful wilderness areas and recreational activities. Keyhole Reservoir is a conservation area specializing in enhanced water recreation. Keyhole State Park is also a great place to camp or picnic, or generally just enjoy the Wyoming range. The Devil's Tower National Monument provides an eerie change in scenery, guaranteed to astound even the most experienced traveler, located just south of Hulett. The Wyoming section of the Black Hills National Forest is also a must to visit while in Crook County.
The county seat is Sundance. The county population on July 1, 1999, was 5,778, an increase of 484 over the 1990 census.
